I’ve been following the official @Starcraft twitter feed (as well as others), and there’s all this hubbub about the joining the Dominion. I wasn’t entirely sure what the heck it was, but just took the time to check it out.
So what is it exactly?
Its pretty much a contest. You can submit propaganda art for the Dominion and win gobs of sweet prizes. See the FAQ page for more info on it. There’s also some other fun stuff such as the Entrance Exam, that would help place you in the Dominion. I was placed as a Ghost:
And lastly, there the social media component of it, where if enough people “Like” it on facebook, it some parts of the website will unlock after every 5% increments. Whether it is special content, in-game stuff, or another contest, it remains to be seen.

Blizzard bought a TV spot for SC2 during the second quarter of game 4 between the Celtics and the Lakers and they will be debuting never-before-seen cinematic footage during the commercial. From the forums:
On Thursday, June 10, a new StarCraft II TV spot featuring never-before-seen cinematic footage will air during the second quarter of game four of the NBA Finals between the Celtics and Lakers. The thirty-second spot features voice-overs from two iconic characters in StarCraft II, and is cut from the pre-rendered cinematic sequences found throughout the game. Check it out during the ABC broadcast beginning this Thursday at 9 p.m. Eastern or 6 p.m. Pacific time.
So the commercial will be seen tonight.. can’t wait til the game too.

I just re-read this post and the content finally hit me:
When the second phase of beta begins shortly before the release of the game it will include a new patch. This patch will be removing all previous version folders. Any replays created during the first phase of the beta will no longer be viewable once the next phase begins.
In layman’s terms, all your maps & replays will be deleted, so save those suckers. I have a few truly epic replays saved, and I’m sure you do too, so just save em to a new folder now, before you forget!
Sorry I haven’t posted lately and didn’t write this sooner. I was up two days strait (seriously) trying to get in as much playing time as possible before the SC2 beta ended. There was a 10 minute warning before beta went down and I was in a match at the time and got my ass handed to me.
It didn’t end with the bang I wanted but, still it was good times.
It will be a few weeks until phase 2 beta is up, right before the game goes live. Also of note is that they will be wiping the server, which is to be expected. From the forums:

So no beta, what can we do now? Map editing is still available, but you can’t publish it obviously. From the forums again:
Just a quick note that use of the map editor will still be possible when beta phase-one ends (June 7) and the servers are down, but map publishing will obviously not be possible.
But I think I’m going to go for a walk outside. I haven’t been out there in weeks haha.
This week’s Fan Art Friday is by Xenofilico, a digital artist whose subject is dedicated solely to aliens. Hell, he even has a whole gallery that consists of only Protoss works.
Just a few more days until beta ends and Blizz comes out with another batch of nerfs. Maybe this will be the last major nerf? I hope so.
